Seaside Engineering & Surveying (SEAS) has extensive experience in land surveying including boundary, topographic, construction stakeout and GPS control surveys. SEAS has five Professional Land Surveyors with licenses in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and Oklahoma. Currently SEAS fields four fully equipped land survey crews.
SEAS has performed boundary surveys of large commercial and residential land areas mostly in support of civil engineering or land planning projects. SEAS personnel have performed hundreds of boundary surveys varying in size and complexity. Our experience includes section retracement/breakdown, surveys of Government Subdivision lots, ALTA surveys, Right-of-Way surveys, and subdivision layout.
SEAS personnel have performed topographic surveys of large acreage wooded parcels, government installations, commercial shopping centers, hotels, condominiums, hospitals and industrial office parks. These projects varied in scope and scale. Many of these projects required the location of all utilities and improvements. Topographic surveys performed for engineering design of parking lots, roadways, shopping centers, condominiums, etc. require detailed mapping at large scales (ex. 1”=20’). Topographic surveys adjoining state highways may require Department of Transportation connection permits. These surveys require cross sections of the highway and detailed locations of all improvements up and down the highway from the site. Very accurate locations and elevations are critical and can be very costly if mistakes are made. SEAS survey crews are accustomed to stringent topographic mapping requirements.
SEAS personnel have established horizontal and vertical positions on hundreds of control stations of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Order classification for: Tide Stations, Aerial Photogrammetry Targets, Boundary/Topographic Survey Control, Hydrographic Survey Control, Control for Lock and Dam locations, Survey Control for Electronic and Staff Gauge Installations, etc…
All of SEAS’ survey crews use Robotic Total Stations with reflectorless capabilities together with Real-time Kinematic (RTK) GPS with On The Fly (OTF) initialization to perform land surveys. Where terrain and satellite visibility permit, the RTK Rover unit can be mounted on a vehicle to expedite the data collection process.
SEAS CAD technicians currently use AutoCAD 2010 to produce topographic survey drawings and are experienced in MicroStation V8.
